Ripple Treasury adds 24/7 returns with RLUSD and AI cash management

Ripple has introduced 24/7 Returns and new AI automation tools for Ripple Treasury, giving eligible corporate customers a way to earn on qualifying digital assets and manage cash outside traditional banking hours.
Summary
- RLUSD qualifies for the returns program when held in a Ripple wallet and eligibility requirements are met.
- Companies can select manual, semi-autonomous, or fully autonomous settings for individual treasury workflows.
- GSmart’s September rollout required approval before execution; the current product page offers configurable autonomy.
- Ripple names American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco and Kingfisher in the announcement.
Ripple announced the capabilities on Oct. 26, combining treasury software, payments, liquidity management, stablecoins and custody. The new orchestration layer works with GSmart across cash positioning, forecasting, reconciliation and payments.
The returns feature covers qualifying assets held in a Ripple wallet, including RLUSD, subject to program requirements. Businesses can participate without independently managing the underlying digital asset transactions, the company said.
The announcement names American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco and Kingfisher. Trax CEO Blake Tablak said its partnership with Ripple Treasury was “just getting started and already returning value.”
Ripple Treasury links returns to eligible digital assets
Ripple describes 24/7 Returns as a way to put operating cash to work overnight, on weekends and during holidays. RLUSD is explicitly included in the product description; XRP appears in the release’s general company overview without a specified role in the new returns feature.
Renaat Ver Eecke, senior vice president of Ripple Treasury, said:
“The way businesses move money is changing, and treasury needs to evolve with it.”
Digital assets remain optional across the platform, according to Ripple’s product page. Companies can choose fiat or digital payment infrastructure for each task and retain their existing banking arrangements.
The page describes a funding workflow that detects a projected cash shortfall before Monday, proposes a transfer with the relevant company policy attached, obtains approval where required, and records the transaction.
AI settings now include fully autonomous workflows
Ripple’s product page offers three levels of automation that customers can select separately for each workflow.
In manual mode, agents prepare actions but require approval before execution. Semi-autonomous mode lets agents act within company rules while notifying users. Fully autonomous mode runs a workflow from start to finish, with customers choosing when to review it.
An overnight sweep can run automatically while a foreign exchange hedge still requires approval, according to the company’s example. Policy checks apply at each setting, and agents refer unfamiliar situations to a person.
The description goes beyond the approval model in Ripple’s September GSmart announcement, which said treasury teams retained authority over every financial action. Agents then proposed actions, cited the applicable policy, and waited for approval before execution.
As crypto.news previously reported on Sep. 10, GSmart’s governed AI tools separate financial calculations from AI-generated explanations. Deterministic engines perform the calculations, while AI interprets policies, identifies patterns, and explains recommendations.
Knowledge Studio holds company policies and controls. Ask GSmart, within Analytics Studio, lets users query treasury data in everyday language. Ripple reported in September that 60% of eligible customers had enabled Risk Insights and 44% used Forecast Insights.
Liquidity management, cash forecasting and intercompany netting can each go live within 90 days, Ripple’s current product page says.
Corporate treasury software came through GTreasury
Ripple announced its $1 billion GTreasury acquisition in October 2025, buying a Chicago-headquartered software business with more than four decades of treasury experience.
At the time, GTreasury said it served more than 1,000 customers across 160 countries. Its products covered cash visibility, forecasting, payments, financial risk, debt and investments, with connections to banks and enterprise resource planning systems.
The acquisition announcement identified access to the global repurchase agreement market through prime broker Hidden Road as one intended service for corporate customers. Ripple paired that proposal with plans for payments operating around the clock.
By September 2026, Ripple stablecoin chief Jack McDonald was describing the treasury business as a potential RLUSD distribution channel serving corporate treasurers and chief financial officers.
The $13 trillion in transactions annually that he cited represented activity touching the customer base. It was not a commitment by those businesses to settle that amount in RLUSD.
Existing treasury functions already included combined visibility over conventional cash and digital assets, alongside Ripple-linked wallets, before the latest announcement.
DriveWealth is integrating RLUSD for settlement in Europe
Ripple’s Oct. 14 partnership with DriveWealth set out another corporate use of its stablecoin, payments and custody services.
The companies said DriveWealth was integrating RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for settlement in Europe, with a US expansion planned. Ripple’s mint and burn capabilities form part of that integration.
DriveWealth is integrating Ripple Payments to receive cross-border funds from global partners. The agreement covers digital asset custody in Europe, with other markets planned, while the firms are exploring equity financing through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business.
The company serves more than 100 partners worldwide. Its clients will be able to fund collateral accounts with stablecoins that convert to cash in near real time, according to the announcement.
DriveWealth CEO Naureen Hassan tied the arrangement to the company’s existing 24/5 trading offering. The announcement said US equities settle on a T+1 basis while international dollar transfers can take longer.
DriveWealth is bringing treasury and custody infrastructure onto Ripple’s systems to provide a combined view of dollar, stablecoin and cryptocurrency balances.
